^ HEATING SYSTEM SC BOILER WATER HEATER ADDITIONS

In all seasons water (without additives) can be used to transport energy.

HEAT CARRIER:

In all seasons water can be used to transport energy.

For protection against freezing other systems have to use antifreeze agents and aggressive substances.

SAFEGUARDS OF THE SYSTEM:

In solar collectors water is present only when the temperature in them is higher than in the bottom part of the combined boiler or heat storage unit. If heat losses occur, water starts removing into a combined expansion tank. The efficiency of heat transport is increased.

Other systems require special preparation for summer and winter operation. If this is not done the antifreeze liquid warms up and remains in the SC. The efficiency is smaller.

RESISTANCE TO THE FLOW OF THE HEAT CARRIER:

The heat carrier is water which has a low viscosity. Thanks to low resistance to flow, pipes of smaller diameter can be used. Heat losses in the pipelines are smaller. The efficiency of heat transport is better.

Other systems require larger-diameter pipes and measures have to be taken to reduce the resistance to flow of more viscous mixtures. Heat losses increase, and the efficiency of heat transport is smaller.

POWER FAILURE:

In case of power failure, water removes from the SC and thus evaporation or freezing up is avoided.

In case of power failure in other systems, the liquid protecting the system against freezing can boil and evaporate through the safety valve. Thus, for faultless operation it is necessary to refill the antifreeze liquid.

OVER-HEATING:

The system is protected from over-heating with a combined expansion tank and a special thermostat.

Other systems are protected with a closed expansion tank and a safety valve.

INSTALLATION AND USE:

If the SC is mounted higher than the radiator level, water from the radiator system can be used for energy transport. So we do not need a special heat exchanger. The system's features are ease of installation and maintenance.

With other systems installation and maintenance are more demanding because of the presence of more aggressive liquid and higher pressure.
