Wood gasification boiler STROJ LAMBDA-UP 20
Wood gasification boiler STROJ Lambda-UP 20 represents the highest level of development in bulky biomass combustion, with automatic power control, and complete combustion.
Power control of the boiler is done by changing the fan speed, which affects the primary air intake. The electronic regulation detects altered states of combustion in the boiler, and provides appropriate control. The temperature sensor (mounted directly behind the combustion chamber, in the smoke connector) for measuring the oxygen content in the flue gases, i.e. the lambda probe, detects the change of the oxygen content in the flue gas. If necessary, it automatically affects the exchange of primary and secondary air intake to the high-temperature fire-clay combustion chamber. The burning results are low emissions, low ash content, and fuel efficiency. The implemented Lambda probe affects burning at three important stages (see below).
- Drying of the logs takes place at 100 °C (212 F). Lower humidity makes the process shorter, and requires lower amounts of energy for heating and drying.
- Thermal decomposition of wood, gasification (pyrolysis): at higher temperatures, the gases (oxygen and hydrogen) first escape the wood, and then a thermal decomposition causes the wood and cellulose to transform into gaseous state.
- The combustion of wood gas is the final stage of wood combustion. Minerals from the wood remain, in the form of ash.
Wood gasification boiler STROJ Lambda-UP 20 has been tested at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service, Munich, according to the standard EN 303-5, and achieves 93% efficiency.
The boiler must be connected to the heating system with an extra hot water storage tank of dimensions determined by applicable laws and regulations.
Thus, it can always operate in the ideal load range. When the building requires less heat, the surplus heat from the boiler is accumulated in the hot water storage tank.
Wood gasification boiler STROJ LAMBDA-UP 20 characteristics:
- made from high-quality fireproof stainless steel (inox);
- temperature and corrosion resistance;
- cylindrical combustion chambers provide for complete combustion;
- long service life;
- easy cleaning;
- accepts wood logs up to 65 cm;
- combustion chamber volume: 130 l;
- adding fuel is easy;
- combustion chamber door can be modified to open to the right or to the left;
- the boiler does not have a side door, making it easy to clean, and set up in a small boiler room;
- log loading space provides a longer burning time, even up to 12 hours;
- high combustion efficiency, up to 93%;
- high combustion (clean burning), low temperatures of flue gas;
- combustion air fan technique;
- automatic log ignition (upon request).
Wood gasification boiler STROJ LAMBDA-UP 20 is equipped with an electronically controlled steering regulation.
The regulation enables measuring and control of all the necessary parameters, such as oxygen content in the flue gases, the flue gas temperature, fan speed, determining the position of air hatches, and a heating water temperature display.
It enables an efficient and a safe operation of the boiler and the heating system.
The automatic system is designed to continuously monitor all of the elements in the heating system; at all stages, even when the boiler is not operating.
When the boiler is cool and you turn it on, it automatically cleans the combustion chamber, and then refuels.
When the boiler is filled, the system turns on the fan, which mixes the air in the boiler. The process of ignition begins immediately after.
When the system detects successful ignition, it starts increasing power, until it reaches the target temperature.
At this point, the system goes into a completely automated monitoring and power control of fuel and air, with direct reference to the user interface parameters.
If the system detects that it is running out of fuel, it starts the process of turning off the boiler. This process can be initiated by manually turning off the boiler, or by setting a timer.
When the boiler is cooled, the system initiates cleaning, and prepares the boiler for further use.
The system also has an integrated security mode of operation in case of overheating (+2 °C above the set temperature). The boiler goes to sleep mode, while all other elements of the heating system are regulated as usual.

Combination low temperature boilers STROJ
- Construction
- The round shape
- of the boiler with a cylindrical shape of combustion chambers, allows for:
- a quality convection of the heat transfer fluid;
- minimal internal pressure of the material (stainless steel);
- easy and thorough cleaning;
- greater heating efficiency (no corners).
- Stainless steel (316):
- guaranteed long-term boiler operation without technological corrections;
- the thinner stainless steel (compared to ordinary boiler sheet metal) enables better heat transition, and thus greater efficiency.
- Boiler types:
- one combustion chamber;
- two combustion chambers with one smoke output from the boiler;
- two separate combustion chambers with two smoke outputs from the boiler;
- with boiler tank;
- without boiler tank;
- with heat exchanger for heat pump.
Important characteristics of two separate combustion chambers and the burning process
The separate cylindrical combustion chambers meet all the requirements for efficient power without loss of efficiency, low emissions, fuel economy, and high efficiency.
The combustion chambers are adapted fuel type. The base is formed by the cylindrical shape of the combustion chamber with a labyrinth of concentric channels. In case of gas/liquid fuels or pellets, the burner is installed with a door opening. With wood, the combustion chamber is sealed with doors that have a regulating hatch.
The primary air required for the combustion of solid fuels enters through the hatch. Flue gas travelling from the combustion chamber with solid fuel, flow through an opening, with a honeycomb structure of pre-combustion cartridge. This is where the solid particles travelling with the flue gas burn.
The flue gas switch extends the route of the flue gases, and thus allows them to come into contact with a larger internal boiler surface. Larger surface area allows for an appropriately larger share of the convective heat emission. The smoke channel ends with a special chimney mount, connected to the chimney.
When burning solid fuel, the grate ensures the correct primary-air and ash permeability. The size of the grate is aligned with the effective heating surface and the boiler heat output. Cleaning the combustion chamber is easy. The design of the combustion chamber prevents loss of embers when the doors are opened, and the ashtray is easily removed. The automated combustion air intake regulator opens and closes the door hatch.
Burners for liquid or gaseous fuels provide high quality burning with a blue flame. If boiler includes heating with pellets, STROJ pellet burner is used, which achieves high efficiency and meets high safety requirements.
The boiler is also adapted to operate at lower temperatures. In this case, there is a possibility of low temperature condensation; therefore, it is recommended to connect the boiler to condensation-resistant chimneys (stainless steel, chamotte/fire clay coatings, etc.)
A hot air exchanger of the solar system is located in the lower part of the boiler, and heats the heat transfer fluid (water) in the boiler, i.e. the heating system. If the solar panels are mounted above the level of the highest radiator, the heat transfer fluid from the radiator system may be used for energy transfer. In this case, no hot air exchanger is needed.
The advantage of a boiler with two combustion chambers is that each chamber has particularly high efficiency and is adapted to the type of fuel; therefore, it is superior to the combination boiler with just one combustion chamber.
The two combustion chamber enable a flexible, automatic switch between burning logs or pellets/oil. If you forget to add a log, the heating system automatically switches to pellets or oil.
Characteristics of Stroj boilers:
- made from high-quality stainless steel (316);
- high combustion efficiency;
- low CO and NOx emissions;
- take up little space, possible to connect in a small boiler room;
- easy delivery to boiler room;
- can combine all energy sources;
- enables energy source selection, and offers the possibility of adding energy sources to the existing Stroj boilers with minimal financial costs;
- innovative flange on the furnace enables a quick switch between energy sources (firewood, oil, pellets);
- length of firewood: from 40 to 70 cm, depends on the boiler power.

Heat-exchange cartridge
The heat-exchange cartridge intended for use during the period when we do not use biomass heating. We highly recommend a concomitant use of solar power and the heat-exchange cartridge, as the total mass of the heat transfer fluid (water) is enlarged. Larger amount of accumulated heat contributes to an increase in efficiency of the entire heating system.
The heat-exchange cartridge has cylindrical shape, and is closely adapted to the cylindrical form of the combustion chamber. Proper installation provides for a minimum air gap; therefore, a good heat transfer from the heat transfer fluid in the central heating furnace is achieved.
Front side insulation prevents heat loss from the cartridge into its surroundings.

Combination low temperature boilers STROJ
- Construction
- The round shape
- of the boiler with a cylindrical shape of combustion chambers, allows for:
- a quality convection of the heat transfer fluid;
- minimal internal pressure of the material (stainless steel);
- easy and thorough cleaning;
- greater heating efficiency (no corners).
- Stainless steel (316):
- guaranteed long-term boiler operation without technological corrections;
- the thinner stainless steel (compared to ordinary boiler sheet metal) enables better heat transition, and thus greater efficiency.
- Boiler types:
- one combustion chamber;
- two combustion chambers with one smoke output from the boiler;
- two separate combustion chambers with two smoke outputs from the boiler;
- with boiler tank;
- without boiler tank;
- made from high-quality stainless steel (316);
- high combustion efficiency;
- low CO and NOx emissions;
- take up little space, possible to connect in a small boiler room;
- easy delivery to boiler room;
- can combine all energy sources;
- enables energy source selection, and offers the possibility of adding energy sources to the existing Stroj boilers with minimal financial costs;
- innovative flange on the furnace enables a quick switch between energy sources (firewood, oil, pellets);
- length of firewood: from 40 to 70 cm, depends on the boiler power.

Eko sklad, j.s. Ljubljana, Slovenia
The pellet boiler has been tested at the German institute TÜV SÜD, Munich.
The pellet boiler meets the standards for a grant in the amount of 25% of the recognised investment costs, or a maximum of 2,000.00 EUR.
We will assist you in the preparation of documentation.Additional option
