The Sun emits incomprehensible amounts of energy into the Universe, and this energy has an overall utilization exceeding 15,000 times the total energy consumption on Earth. There is more than enough solar energy, but Earth is still a victim of a ruthless battle for resources. Fossil fuels are created in a natural process of transformation of biological structures with integration of solar energy. Additionally, oil is nothing more than a “captured Sun”, as prehistoric trees needed solar energy for their photosynthesis and growth. Subjected to high pressure, they transformed into oil, the priceless resource, which people waste and burn without thinking twice about overheating our planet.
The Kyoto agreements strive for reduction of emissions and harmful impacts to the atmosphere. Since the worldwide energy crisis in 1980s, institutes and development laboratories around the world have been intensively engaged in the development of innovative ideas in the field of energy. The rich current knowledge should be focused on preventing a global catastrophe threatening humanity with rising temperatures of the Earth’s atmosphere.
Renewable energy sources (RES) form an inexhaustible energy source. They include all sources of energy harvested from ongoing natural processes, and include solar radiation, wind, water currents of rivers or streams, biomass created by photosynthesis, and Earth’s heat flows (geothermal energy).
In comparison with other countries in the EU, ours has a similar or even better natural potential for the use of RES, as it is covered by forests (54%). In this category, Slovenia ranks among the best European countries, and the potential should be employed to reduce the energy import dependency, increase stock safety and energy efficiency, enable job creation, and contribute to a stronger development of local rural areas.
In the course of our more than 35-year-long tradition, the company Stroj-energijska tehnika d.o.o., from Dvorska vas, near Radovljica, has always operated on this very same principle: implementing renewable energy sources. We were promoters of solar energy long before Slovenia took notice of this important issue.
Within the company, we have developed a strong research development activity, yielding numerous patents and innovations. Our STROJ production programme is based on manufacturing complete heating systems, more notably, solar energy receivers (collectors), combined boilers with direct utilisation of solar energy in combination with gaseous fuels, fuel oil and biomass. Thus acquired energy heats domestic hot water and radiators while accomplishing maximum efficiency of solar energy.
Our company Stroj - energijska tehnika d.o.o. implements a practical method of constant improvements, which facilitates innovative solutions to solve individual particularities, improving methodologies and technological processes. All elements of the heating system are remarkably reliable, ensuring many years of flawless performance. This is confirmed by long service life of our built-in elements.
Several thousand references including small and large heating systems testify to our high-quality production, and validate the trust that numerous customers and professionals put in our company. Each year, we install approximately 700 collectors (which amounts to 140,000 kWh), implementing them into various types of heating systems. Strong manufacture and installation teams provide high-quality products, skilful installation, regular maintenance, and a repair service always eager to help.
Our STROJ energy research institute (ERIS), which operates within the Slovenian Research Agency under no. 2539 of 7 March 2007, performs tests for new company products, which are oriented towards an effective treatment of renewable energy.
